During the morning rush hour of October 10, a pothole formed in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Lehi. The dangerous hole damaged tires and snarled traffic, and the Utah Highway Patrol entered the scene to help motorists with flat or damaged tires. With a hazard of this kind requiring immediate repair and not wanting to close a major north-south artery, UDOT (along with Ames Construction) turned to GAP-Patch material.
